- Best Electric-type Counters
The Alolan Grass-type starter evolution Decidueye will be featured in the next 7-Star Tera Raid event of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. However, instead of its original dual-typing of Grass- and Ghost-type, Decidueye will now be Flying-type with new weaknesses and resistances. With a large move pool of three different same-type attack bonus moves, this event will give trainers another challenge ending with catching a Mightiest Mark Pokémon much like the Fighting-type Cinderace Tera Raids or the Poison- Greninja Tera Raids. The first round of the event will be from March 17th until March 19th, and if the trainer accidentally misses the first round, a second round will be featured from March 23rd to March 26th.
Decidueye Flying-type Tera Raids can be battled by trainers who have finished the main storylines in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. To unlock 6- and 7-Star Raids, trainers must participate in the Academy Ace Tournament. After finishing it, the Biology teacher Jacq will prompt the trainer on “how dangerous” a 6-Star Tera Raid can be. After getting permission to join Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Tera Raids, trainers can find a black crystal with a Pokémon type symbol. Once the trainer connects to the Poké Portal via the internet and takes a look at the News, Decidueye will be on the map as a black shining Flying-type symbol.
Decidueye’s Moves
With Decidueye being a physical attacker, trainers will likely find it with moves such as Brave Bird, Leaf Blade, and Spirit Shackle. These moves can be dangerous and are also expected to be stronger with status moves it can use, such as Swords Dance and Tailwind. Decidueye is also projected to have some random thrown, which, according to the Pokémon Database, could be: Low Kick, Phantom Force, or Shadow Claw.
Supporting Pokémon such as Grimmsnarl or the best Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Umbreon builds can be extremely useful in stopping Decidueye from increasing its damage output. Use the move Taunt and take it down quickly with attackers to avoid having it do its damage.
Best Electric-type Counters
Many Electric-type Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet can take down or solo the Flying-type Decidueye Tera Raid. Consider using Electric-type Pokémon for this raid as it resists Decidueye’s Flying-type moves while taking advantage of Decidueye’s 2x weakness. Pokémon such as Miraidon, Iron Hands, and Toxtricity are already some of the best attackers looking for builds for this raid. However, if a trainer doesn’t want to use these Pokémon and wants to try something new, consider using a bulky Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Bellibolt raid build or Magnezone for this battle.

Best Ice-type Counters
Ice-type Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are also excellent choices against Decidueye Flying-type Tera Raids. With the correct set-up, Chien-Pao, Weaville, and Cetitan can even one-shot the starter. Furthermore, when using both Chien-Pao and Weaville sets, their added Dark-type can also resist Decidueye’s Ghost-type moves. Lastly, trainers using these Pokémon should be advised as Ice-type Pokémon are defensively very weak, be sure to cheer when necessary.
